About The Position

LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY, PAUL M. HEBERT LAW CENTER seeks to hire an adjunct faculty member for the Estate Planning & Taxation Practice course for the 2026-2027 Academic Year. This course is designed to teach students the basic skills required in an estate planning practice, considering various estate planning techniques for individuals with an emphasis on both tax and non-tax planning issues. Topics include federal tax issues, planning for incapacity, end-of-life planning, ethical issues faced by estate planners, and wills and trusts. Students will draft a variety of estate planning documents and engage in other simulation exercises, applying the law of the state in which they plan to practice throughout the various drafting assignments.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Superior academic credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the Estate Planning & Taxation Practice course.
  • Guide students in drafting estate planning documents.
  • Engage students in simulation exercises related to estate planning.
  • Cover topics such as federal tax issues, incapacity planning, end-of-life planning, and ethical issues in estate planning.
