This Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance (LRAM) Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) Supervisor position works at the Pōhakuloa Training Area (PTA) on the Island of Hawaii with Colorado State University and the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands. The HEO Supervisor will oversee soil stabilization, vegetation management, and training area access improvement activities for Range Division Hawaii at PTA in support of the Army’s Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) Program. This position will operate and oversee the operation of heavy equipment such as 10 to 35 ton dump trucks, dozers, motor graders, front-end loaders, vibratory compactors, skid-steers, water/glue trucks, and backhoes for the purpose of completing LRAM projects. Primary functions are soil stabilization and vegetation management on Army lands. The HEO Supervisor will provide daily supervisory oversight for subordinate CSU/CEMML LRAM HEO employees at PTA. Work will be performed at PTA on the Island of Hawaii and there may be the potential for paid travel to other locations in Hawaii. Work location is dependent on the needs of the partner/project/role and requires staff to be fully in-person with no remote potential. The Pōhakuloa Training Area (PTA) is a 133,000-acre U.S. Army joint/combined arms training facility on Hawaii Island, located on a high-elevation plateau (approx. 6,200 ft) between Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea, and Hualālai.
