Requirements

  • Current LPN or RN license and is in good standing.
  • You bring warmth, patience, and a calm presence, even in stressful situations.
  • You believe in treating each individual with dignity, respect, and empathy.
  • You are highly organized and detail-oriented, especially with documentation and compliance.
  • You communicate effectively with students, families, and team members.
  • You enjoy working in a collaborative team environment and values shared success.
  • At least 21 years old and licensed as an LPN or RN in the state.
  • Must pass background checks and drug screen
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs, perform therapeutic holds if needed, and support students with mobility and behavioral needs.
  • Valid driver’s license for occasional student transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate care and monitor the health of students/residents with intellectual disabilities.
  • Assess injuries or illnesses and determine when treatment is necessary.
  • Administer medications according to standing orders and provider instructions.
  • Collaborate with families, medical providers, and internal staff to ensure coordinated care.
  • Maintain up-to-date, confidential health records and documentation in compliance with state and organizational standards.
  • Support students by scheduling and transporting them to medical, mental health, or specialty appointments.
  • Serve as a trusted liaison between students/residents, families, providers, and school staff.
  • Prepare bi-annual medication reviews and ensure lab work is completed as recommended.
  • Provide education and guidance to staff regarding health protocols, emergencies, and medication safety.
  • Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment and follow all universal health precautions.
