About The Position

Ensure the maintenance of high quality and safe resident services in an Assisted Living environment.

Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, document notes/medical records, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw or interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concreate variables in situations where only a limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Licensed by the State of Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Completion of required hours of pharmacy and additional pharmacy training qualifying to pass medications.
  • Ability to talk or hear.
  • Ability to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; required to sit and smell.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally help lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of advanced teaching in insertion of gastric tubes, completion of a certified course in IV and blood drawing, knowledge of skills necessary in the assisted living setting, and knowledge of Residential Care Facility regulations desired.
  • Good interpersonal relationship skills and previous experience working with elders desired.
  • Computer skills are a must.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining established policies and procedures, standards of practice and Residents Rights, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assess and evaluate Residents abilities and needs as necessary.
  • Coaching and teaching Residents and family members as needed.
  • Assigning, directing and supervising Resident Assistants in quality Resident Services
  • Administering medications and treatments to Residents as directed by their physician.
  • Taking physicians’ orders, episodic charting and maintaining accurate Resident medical records.
  • Assisting in making level of service determinations.
  • Arranging for adequate supplies and properly functioning equipment.
  • Responding to emergency situations.
  • Meet the psychological needs of Residents by maintaining the Residents dignity, providing privacy and confidentiality and giving gentle and sincere attention to the Residents desires and service needs.
  • Assisting with other duties as necessary for the smooth operation of the Community.
  • Maintain a qualified, efficient staff.
  • Participate in planning and projects/teams as necessary.
  • Enhance professional and personal growth and development.
