The LPN is part of the Urgent Care Team and is responsible for: Delivers patient care as identified by the Scope of Care of the Urgent Care Center. Effective communication demonstrates Caring, Compassion, and Cultural awareness. Provide quality care using the LPN process and critical thinking skills. Able to function under stress and emergency situations. Promotes effective communications between patients, staff, physicians and visitors. Provides knowledge of Urgent Care injuries and illnesses. Performs surveillance exams: hearing tests, vision screening, spirometry, EKGs. Performs breath alcohol testing and urine drug screening. Proficient in vaccine administration and phlebotomy. Proficient in Urgent Care duties. Performs Urgent Care Tech/LPN duties as needed. The Urgent Care Tech performs duties such as, but not limited to taking vital signs, prepares patient medical record for the provider. Accurately and efficiently performs specimen collections and testing as defined by laboratory policy and procedure manuals. Computer data entry and workflow monitoring. Assesses environment to assure patient safety and determines appropriate equipment to use that meet the patient's needs. Maintains chain of custody for forensic collections. This position will cross train to support the front desk staff and responsibilities. Ability to utilize more than one computer system for registration, patient test resulting and insurance verification when covering front desk. Answers phones and faxes reports. Maintains a clean environment. Understands quality control and expected results for POCT tests performed. Discharges patients efficiently. Ensures accurate documentation. Ensures adequate supplies and is knowledgeable in operation of equipment. Ensures current credentials and /or certifications. Maintains compliance with hospital/Urgent Care procedural standards. Supports and promotes JMC mission, vision,and values. Personally contributes to the team environment by demonstrating cooperative, constructive, problem-solving interaction with JMC policies. This position requires flexibility in travel amongst all Jupiter Medical Center Urgent Care Locations. Performs other departmental duties as assigned. Our growth is creating great opportunities! Requirements

  • Graduate of Accredited Nursing School for LPN
  • Current LPN licensure in the state of Florida
  • American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers
  • Strong knowledge of Urgent Care principles.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation
  • TB/PPD Surveillance Program
  • Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
