About The Position

Job Summary: Screen patients, take vital signs, administer injections, review medication list, assist clinician with exams, maintain patient flow. Orders, documentation, sign out. Telephone interactions under supervision of clinician or RN, handle prescription renewals, enter edit labs, maintain communication between clinician and patient. Provide written patient education material. Maintain exam rooms, stock rooms with supplies, clean instruments, and inventory. Incoming consults and outgoing referrals: Set up appointments, arrange for patient testing, obtain authorization and referrals for patient's insurance, obtain patient information, test results from other areas. Maintenance of medical charts, flow sheets, forms and processing of insurance forms. Scanning and abstraction. Provide backup / coverage to other office staff as needed (clerical or nursing dependent up on training / access). Complete and maintain epic training and proficiency at all nursing desks (triage, referrals, auths, intake, MUEs, barriers to care, insurance verification, infusion processes, clinic staff nurse). -Cross cover clerical duties as assigned. -Other duties as assigned based on the needs of the clinical operations.

Requirements

  • NYS licensed/registered LPN
  • Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required

Nice To Haves

  • Three years of related experience
  • Previous experience in an outpatient care setting preferred
