The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Urology will perform nursing duties under the supervision of a licensed medical practitioner or registered nurse. This role involves conducting patient assessments, implementing care plans, and evaluating treatment effectiveness in a medical practice setting. The LPN will also be responsible for maintaining accurate clinical documentation and ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards.

  • Accurately complete all required clinical documentation per RHS standards.
  • Maintain documentation for quality assurance, including point of care testing and medication logs.
  • Work with providers to address care gaps for each patient.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, legible, and completed on the same day.
  • Monitor OSHA and lab proficiency testing.
  • Maintain clean, compliant, and well-stocked work areas.
  • Provide patient education regarding medications and care processes.
  • Follow up with patients regarding lab calls, prescription fills, referrals, and appointment scheduling.
  • Answer telephone calls from patients, pharmacies, and other stakeholders by the end of the business day.
  • Communicate lab/pathology results and schedule additional tests as ordered by providers.
  • Perform pre-authorization for prescription drugs and procedures to ensure proper reimbursement from insurance companies.
  • Build trusting collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings as assigned.
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Virginia (Required upon hire).
  • CPR/BLS Certification (Required upon hire).
  • 1 year of nursing experience (Preferred).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred).
