About The Position

This is a Wenatchee Valley College position. The full-time, tenure track faculty position on the Omak campus involves teaching in a four-quarter program. The role includes teaching nursing theory courses, supervising students in the skills practice lab, and overseeing clinical experiences in various healthcare settings. Additionally, the position entails contributing to curriculum development, participating in policy development, and evaluating student learning outcomes. Faculty members are expected to hold scheduled office hours, participate in meetings, and advise students on their academic paths.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in nursing from an accredited program or a bachelor's degree in nursing and a master's degree in a health or education related field.
  • A current, unencumbered RN license in Washington state.
  • Evidence of current clinical skills in medical-surgical nursing.
  • Documented successful teaching experience.

  • Experience using computer applications for instruction and clinical documentation.
  • Post-secondary vocational or professional nursing certificates.
  • Experience with online and hybrid teaching modalities.
  • Experience in curriculum development.
  • Successful post-secondary teaching experience, preferably in a community college setting.

  • Ability to work in a multi-lingual and multi-cultural environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching nursing theory courses covering various aspects of nursing practice and patient care.
  • Supervising students in the skills practice lab to develop necessary clinical skills.
  • Overseeing students in clinical experiences in healthcare settings.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of the nursing program curriculum.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of nursing program education policies.
  • Assessing student learning outcomes and evaluating the effectiveness of the nursing program.
  • Holding scheduled office hours to advise students.
  • Participating in department, division, college, and task group meetings.
  • Advising students on degree and career paths.
