Nurses in the Telehealth Nursing department demonstrate strong competency in using various telecommunication technologies to provide direct virtual nursing care. Telehealth Nursing RNs triage, prioritize patient needs, collaborate with patients to develop care plans, direct them to the appropriate level of care, and provide referrals to Emory services and other resources to ensure a comprehensive care experience. Telehealth Nursing LPNs assist patients with prescription management across specialties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
  • Valid, active, unencumbered nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Strong telephone communication skills and computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills over various mediums.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records and e-prescribing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMS, Outlook and eMR.

  • Experience in telehealth nursing.
  • Familiarity with the Synergy model for Care.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong competency in using various telecommunication technologies to provide direct virtual nursing care.
  • Triage and prioritize patient needs, collaborating with patients to develop care plans.
  • Assist patients with prescription management across specialties.
  • Complete prior authorizations as needed and route medication renewal orders to providers for review.
  • Utilize current evidence-based nursing practices and guidelines.
  • Document, update, and maintain patient medical records.
  • Act as a liaison between patient and provider.
  • Educate patients on the provider's plan of care.
  • Train, orient, and educate new team members and students.
  • Participate in staff meetings and organizational meetings.
