About The Position

Join our not-for-profit organization that has provided over 100 years of housing and services to seniors with a commitment to quality care and service in a Christian environment. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. The LPN demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge. The role includes performing testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status, ensuring the health, comfort, and safety of residents, and contributing to the assessment of residents.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
  • Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience.
  • Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board.
  • Obtains and maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
  • Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in long term care settings.
  • IV therapy/management skills if required by the position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles and competency in nursing expertise.
  • Perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status.
  • Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations.
  • Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
  • Contribute to the assessment of residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
  • Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents and healthcare providers.
  • Counsel residents and family members on prevention and treatment plans.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
