About The Position

The primary purpose of your job position is to assist the Director of Nursing in determining the staffing needs of the nursing department and to ensure that the required number and type of nursing personnel are available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week and to assure resident safety.

Requirements

  • Must possess an LPN Degree from an accredited college or university or be a graduate of an approved diploma program.
  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year of nursing leadership experience in a clinical setting.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a staff nurse in a long-term care facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review the staffing budgeted patterns of the nursing department.
  • Review staffing model.
  • Maintain a daily staffing pattern consistent with budgeted LHPPD.
  • Participate in facility surveys made by authorized government agencies as requested by the Director of Nursing.
  • Receive schedules from RN Team Leaders and LPN Medication Managers who self-schedule and integrate into the staffing schedule for the entire department.
  • Review the finalized staffing schedule with the DON and post the schedule in a location available to all.
  • Assist the DON in preparing staffing reports from scheduling and time and attendance software.
  • Notify the DON when adequate staff is not available to meet resident care needs.
  • Ensure that daily staffing and census is posted per state regulations.
