About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at AdventHealth Medical Group is a vital role that involves providing patient care and performing various assigned duties under the direction of a physician or nurse manager. This position is integral to the healthcare team, ensuring compliance with established standards and protocols while contributing to the overall goals and objectives of AdventHealth - East Region. The LPN will work full-time during the day, specifically from Monday through Friday, in the Palm Coast and surrounding area.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school degree or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited LPN nursing program.
• Current State of Florida licensure or registration as a LPN.
• BLS/CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients from the waiting area into the exam room and documents a brief history of the reason for the visit.
• Obtains and records vital signs following traditional techniques.
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic measures as prescribed by the physician.
• Documents and administers immunizations and therapeutic injections, as well as medications, under the supervision of the physician.
• Schedules patients for procedures, diagnostic testing, or specialists as directed by the physician.
• Performs venipuncture and stat lab work as ordered by the physician during the patient visit and prepares specimens for outside lab testing.
• Relays laboratory and x-ray results to patients via telephone or mail as directed by the physician, maintaining a log of diagnostic tests ordered and received.
• Provides follow-up by telephoning patients/families to check on their condition.
• Telephones or faxes prescription requests to pharmacies as directed by the physician.
