About The Position

The ideal candidate for this position needs to be either a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a Medical Assistant. The role involves various essential functions that include identifying and evaluating patient needs through telephone triage, administering medications including injections, and documenting medication given or prescribed by the ordering physician as required. The candidate will also be responsible for identifying patient and family education needs and providing appropriate instruction. Recognizing and responding to emergency situations is crucial, as is adhering to Clinical Services policies and procedures when documenting information in patients' medical records. The candidate will facilitate the flow of patients to maintain the integrity of the physician’s office and assist the physician with medical office procedures while maintaining the integrity of the office.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing for LPN candidates.
  • Must possess active Florida license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • High school diploma or GED for Medical Assistant candidates.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years.
  • Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or training in a medical health care facility as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • 1 Year experience in primary care setting.
