About The Position

The ideal candidate needs to be an LPN or a Medical Assistant. This role involves providing basic medical and nursing care, ensuring the comfort of patients, discussing health care with patients, and reporting the status of patients to registered nurses and providers.

Requirements

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
• Must possess active Florida license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• One (1) year experience or training in a medical health care facility as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Highly Preferred Education and Experience with Psychiatry and/or Psychology.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and evaluates patient needs by way of telephone triage.
• Administers medication including injections; documents medication given or prescribed by ordering physician as required.
• Identifies patient and family education needs and provides instruction.
• Recognizes and responds to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Adheres to the Clinical Services policies and procedures when documenting information patient’s medical records
• Facilitates the flow of patients to maintain the integrity of the physician’s office.
• Assists the physician with medical office procedures.
• Maintain the integrity of the office.
