About The Position

Christie Clinic's department of OB/GYN is seeking a full-time LPN or RN at the University clinic in Champaign. This position will offer a flexible schedule of 4-10s (7:00am-5:30pm) or 5-8s (8:00am-5:00pm) from Monday to Friday, with no night or weekend requirements. Duties include the provision of professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Evidence of annual completion of health-related courses and/or seminars with a certificate and/or CEU’s
Possession of an Illinois State LPN or RN License
CPR Certification

Responsibilities

Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider.
Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of patient.
Observe, record and report patient’s condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider.
Arrange for patient testing, referrals and admissions
Schedule surgeries in the absence of the Surgery Scheduler.
Act as a liaison between patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc.
Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education.
Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment to ensure patients with emergency situations are given priority and documenting appropriately.
Attend and participate in departmental huddles.
Daily monitoring and working of items in EMR related to patient results and follow up.
Schedule appointments for patients (may include lab/DI order entry).
Administer injections.
Send prescription refills.
Obtain prior authorizations for medications, testing, procedures, etc.
Perform related work as required.
