Summary of Duties The LPN/RN Clinic Lead assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider and/or clinic leader. This role includes direct patient care, administrative duties, and leadership responsibilities to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic.

Requirements

  • Licensed and in good standing to practice as an LPN/RN in the state of Kentucky.
  • Experienced in clinical nursing, with a passion for leadership and patient care.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proactive and able to thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Completion of an approved educational program for LPN/RN.
  • Current licensure in KY as a Licensed Practicing Nurse/Registered Nurse.
  • BSL (Basic Life Support) required.
  • Must have a minimum of one year in a clinic setting and have the ability to work with staff and patients.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and standard clinical procedures and have a genuine interest in high quality nursing.
  • Must have the ability to follow verbal and written directions and have good physical and mental health.
  • Must have manual dexterity to handle instructions, current knowledge of nursing procedures and be able to maintain a friendly work environment.
  • Empathetic understanding of the sick is also of importance.
  • Ability to lead and manage others.
  • Working knowledge of computer operation and use.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with eClinical Works is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Interview patients, measure vital signs (e.g., pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and record information in patient charts.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and ensure proper positioning of instruments and equipment.
  • Administer medications orally, subcutaneously, or intramuscularly, and document in patient charts.
  • Collect and process lab specimens (e.g., urine, blood, sputum) and perform routine laboratory tests.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment, including x-ray and EKG machines, or coordinate testing through other facilities.
  • Follow up with patients on lab results, including scheduling additional tests as needed.
  • Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized clinical environment.
  • Supervise nursing assistants or other clinic staff, including conducting skills checkoffs, annual evaluations, and communication of clinic operations.
  • Act as a point of contact for Quality and Risk Management.
  • Oversee inventory management, ordering, and prevention of equipment and supply waste.
  • Coordinate patient referrals through insurance and other physician offices.
  • Collaborate with providers to ensure all quality standards are met and referrals to internal services (e.g., dietician, behavioral health ARNP) are completed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR, including medical history, family and social history, demographics, and medications.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Maintain current certifications, including basic life support and defibrillation per Red Cross or American Heart Association guidelines.
  • Assist in billing, registration, scheduling appointments, and completing insurance forms as needed.
  • Provide coverage for lab technicians and receptionists as required.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and training sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the clinician supervisor.
