About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse will assist Primary Residential Treatment (PRT) clients in achieving optimal levels of wellness, self-management, and functioning capability during their assigned 12-hour shift (7am-7pm, or 7pm-7am). The LPN will offer licensure level appropriate nursing skills to all PRT clients. All duties will be performed under the guidance of the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have completed an accredited LPN program and have obtained a current, unrestricted Nursing License from the State of Oklahoma.
  • Current BLS for healthcare providers certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Mental Health or Substance Abuse is preferred
  • Experience in administering medication both orally and by intra-muscular injections; reporting and recording vital signs
  • Knowledge of human body structure, function, illnesses and/or disease entities, and skill sufficient to communicate with nurses, patients, family members and clinic staff.
  • Experience in observation, recording, and reporting patient information accurately and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply principles of growth and development, providing age-appropriate care to patients served.
  • Requires a self-motivated, high energy, individual with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics, always maintaining confidentiality, as well as problem solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Requires walking, sitting, recurring bending, lifting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling, rarely over 50 pounds
  • Must take at least 6 continuing education units per year
  • Requires willingness and ability to learn new skills, including traveling to training conferences.
  • Must maintain a professional attitude
  • Requires ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol testing and have a clean driving record – may be required to drive GSA or tribal vehicles

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS/PALS certification preferred
