About The Position

The LPN position in the Progressive Care Unit at West Hospital is a part-time role requiring 24 hours per week on night shifts. The physical location is at IU Health West, 4th floor, 1111 N Ronald Reagan Pkwy, with hours from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am. The role includes a weekend and holiday schedule that rotates every third weekend and annually for holidays. This position is benefits eligible.

Requirements

• Graduation from a nationally accredited licensed practical nursing program
• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) LPN license
• Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies
• Successful completion of orientation required

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Medication administration
• Cerner documentation
• Open communication with RN and PCA
• Utilize the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for individual patients
• Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team
• Evaluate response to interventions and patient status toward goal achievement
• Accept delegated nursing measures for which prepared, qualified, and licensed to perform
