IMC is currently hiring a LPN PRN Physician , who under the general supervision of the Physician Practice Manager and with the authority of the Chief Nursing Officer, the LPN renders safe clinical care to patients. The LPN supervises, directs, and monitors the clinical care assigned to her / him. The LPN administers medications, vaccines and performs related duties. The LPN must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and related criteria for the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric population. EDUCATION: Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing. Current license as a LPN in the state of Louisiana. Knowledge of the nursing process and nursing principles. Knowledge of anatomy Previous experience preferred, but not required, IV Certification

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates respect for patients and families.
  • Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care.
  • Applies the clinical process to each patient and implements clinical actions.
  • Knowledge and the ability to set up and assist with all surgical/diagnostic/treating procedures in the office.
  • Assisting with doing messages daily.
  • Triaging and assisting patients during clinic hours.
  • Scheduling diagnostic testing (CT, U/s, MRI, etc.).
  • Call patients to notify them of date, time, location and any special instruction pertaining to test.
  • Making sure orders and precertification are faxed to the appropriate site.
  • Assisting with stocking rooms and making sure that all supplies are in the rooms to complete daily task.
  • Knowledge of how to properly sterilize, package and label surgical instruments.
  • Assisting with medication refills (faxed refills, Care tracker refills or patients phone calls).
  • Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient and organizational data.
