About The Position

Responsible for providing nursing care to patients in a professional and courteous manner. Performs a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for patients under the direction of the manager/provider.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Current South Carolina license as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Basic first aid knowledge and current CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Maintains a positive attitude and has contact by phone, correspondence, or personal meetings with persons in other departments or outside the practice.
• Demonstrates appropriate communication of information to all ages.
• Responds to all patients and office staff requests and needs.
• Performs duties assigned by authorized personnel or as required in an emergency.
• Handles communication including answering and transferring phone calls, managing orders and messages, and performing phone triage.
• Schedules referrals, appointments, ancillaries, surgeries, and hospital admissions.
• Maintains medical records including documentation, chart structure, maintenance, and filing.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection and processing.
• Manages medication including intravenous infusion, oral, topical, and other forms.
• Conducts patient interviews and assists patients as needed.
• Implements physician orders and provides patient education.
• Operates and maintains patient care equipment and general office equipment.
• Participates in in-service education and training.
• Maintains log sheets and conducts audits.
• Stocks and cleans instruments and equipment.
• Provides support and guidance for clinical policies and procedures.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
