About The Position

The position is responsible for providing nursing care to patients in a professional and courteous manner, performing a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for patients under the direction of the manager/provider.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum Years of Experience: None
  • Required Certifications/Licensure: Current South Carolina license as a Licensed Practical Nurse; Basic first aid knowledge and current CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a positive attitude and has contact by phone, correspondence, or personal meetings with persons in other departments or outside the practice.
  • Demonstrates appropriate communication of information to all ages.
  • Responds to all patients and office staff requests and needs.
  • Performs duties assigned by authorized personnel or as required in an emergency.
  • Handles communication including answering and transferring phone calls, managing orders/messages, and phone triage.
  • Schedules referrals, appointments, ancillaries, surgeries, and hospital admissions.
  • Maintains medical records including documentation, forms, and chart maintenance.
  • Performs phlebotomy, specimen collection and processing, proficiency testing, and results reporting.
  • Manages medication including intravenous infusion, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal, oral, topical, suppository, sublingual, and inhalants.
  • Prepares and maintains exam rooms, conducts patient interviews, assists patients as needed, and performs minor procedures.
  • Implements physician orders and provides patient education.
  • Operates and maintains patient care equipment and general office equipment.
  • Participates in in-service education and maintains competency.
  • Maintains log sheets and conducts audits.
  • Stocks and cleans instruments, ensuring proper storage and usage.
  • Provides support and guidance for clinical policies and procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
