The LPN-OUT PATIENT will: Demonstrate competency in performing all procedures within scope of practice and requirements for positions, including data collection, as appropriate to the ages of the patients’ growth and development through the life cycle factors (Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics). Provide direct patient care within scope of practice. When requested, inform and instruct patient/caregivers on patient's health/illness state and Plan of Care. Document on the Superbill and the Medical Record all aspects of patient care accurately. Be knowledgeable of and initiates emergency procedures. Maintain supplies and equipment. Administer medications and parenteral therapy in accordance with established Saint Peter's University Hospital guidelines. Maintain patient safety, comfort and cleanliness. Report all necessary information and/or unusual occurrences in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited Practical School of Nursing.
  • Possession of a valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
  • BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
