About The Position

This role is part of our Sports Medicine Department and serves as the primary nurse for one of our high-volume, non-surgical sports medicine providers. Responsibilities include daily clinical tasks, patient triage, managing FMLA paperwork, ensuring the provider’s schedule is prepared and organized, following up with patients, managing the message pool, and occasionally providing support to other providers as needed. Knows and uses the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to individual patients. Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team. Evaluates response to interventions and patient status toward goal achievement. Accepts delegated nursing measures for which he or she knows he or she is prepared, qualified and licensed to perform. Requirements

  • Requires graduation from a nationally accredited licensed practical nursing program.
  • Requires an active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) LPN license.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Successful completion of orientation required.
