About The Position

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA) to join our ambulatory Float Pool team! You'll have the opportunity to work with diverse teams across multiple medical clinics, gaining a breadth of experience and expanding your skills. Position Purpose: LPN's assist in providing excellent patient care by assists physicians/physician assistants/nurse practitioners in medical office setting. Performs a variety of patient care duties within the construct of a multidisciplinary patient care team as delegated by physician. Requirements

  • LPN Candidates Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program
  • High school or Equivalent
  • Current, valid Arizona LPN license or compact state LPN/LVN license
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
  • DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • MA Candidates High School or Equivalent
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
  • DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Must meet one of the following criteria: Has attended a medical assistant training program accredited by one of the following: The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools; If your Medical Assistant program was not accredited by one of the above agencies, you will need to have a Medical Assistant Certification issued by one of the following. If needed, we will assist you in obtaining a CCMA certification. National Healthcareer Association: CCMA American Medical Technologist: RMA American Association of Medical Assistants: AAMA National Center for Competency Testing: NCMA American Medical Certification Association: CMAC Has completed a medical services training program of the Armed Forces of the United States
  • Must be able to distinguish appropriate colors, communicate using telephone, and able to consistently reach and/or work above and below shoulder level lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Capable of walking or being on feet 90% of time per day with frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, standing and sitting at desk 10% of the time per day.
  • Expected duties have routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues and to chemicals, biological, and radioactive substances.

Responsibilities

  • LPN Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations.
  • Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in a dynamic environment.
  • Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures.
  • Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens, performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
  • May perform venipuncture.
  • MA Responsible for patient care under the direct supervision (in the office suite or exam room) of a Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Escorts patient to the exam room and prepares patient for the exam including vital stats, history, and reason for seeking care.
  • Cross trains in data entry, balancing of accounts, charge fees and collect payments due Schedules/confirms appointments.
  • Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens, performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
  • May perform venipuncture.
