The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. The Medical Assistant (MA) functions within the administration pre-defined scope of practice guidelines per state location of practice. The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs basic patient care services and supports activities within ambulatory services. Patient Care Technicians are multi-skilled to provide expanded services under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical professional.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse for LPN.
  • Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program for MA.
  • Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA).
  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred for PCT.
  • Minimum of six months' experience preferred for PCT.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting for MA.
  • Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies for PCT.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred for PCT.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care under supervision.
  • Assist nursing staff and providers to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Perform basic patient care services including height, weight, blood pressure, and visual acuity checks.
  • Prepare patient treatment areas for use and clean medical equipment.
  • Monitor stock levels of medical inventory and restock or reorder as needed.
  • Work patient registries and identify opportunities to improve patient care.
