About The Position

Job Summary: Provides nursing care in the Satellite Clinic setting. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility within the scope of practice for a LPN under the supervision of a Provider and the Clinic LPN Supervisor. Communicates with providers about changes in patient’s status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to change in patient conditions or response to treatment. Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas: Demonstrate knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and patient’s clinical condition. Medications are administered upon provider’s order. Performs nursing care responsibilities, considering needs specific to the standard of care for the patient’s age. Communicates appropriately and clearly to providers and co-workers. Adheres to facility policies and procedures. Maintains nurse workloads in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Maintains Referral system to meet referral requirements. Demonstrates an ability to assist providers with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills under the direction of the providers. Complete chart documentation adequately and timely in the EMR system. Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and family. Interacts professionally with patient and family; involves them in patient teaching and plan of care upon transfer or discharge from the department. Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide and perform services requiring technical and manual skills under the direction of the provider. Comply with Osiis guidelines and inventory requirements for State of Oklahoma Immunizations system. Relate to others in a manner which creates a sense of teamwork and cooperation. Assists department manager and supervisors in the development, implementation and evaluation of Performance Improvement Activities to improve patient outcome and work environment. Participate in monthly staff and nurse meetings. Practices Safety, Environmental, and Infection Prevention methods according to policy. Demonstrates ability to be flexible and organized; demonstrates ability to function well under stressful situations

Requirements

  • Current LPN licensure in the State of Oklahoma required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • One year of clinical LPN experience required.
  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license in good standing required.
  • Obtain a current or temporary Food Handler’s Permit offered by the Jackson County Health Department.
  • Must possess basic computer skills to manage Internet based medical record systems.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

  • Meets dress code standards of assigned nursing unit.
  • Completes annual educational requirements.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time.
  • Wears identification while on duty; uses computerized punch time system correctly.
  • Attends 75% of staff meetings; reads and initials all monthly staff meeting minutes.
  • Ensures confidentiality of patients’ records.
  • Attends continuing education in-services.
