About The Position

The LPN/CMA supports the Provider in provision of individualized patient care, direct and indirect in an outpatient clinical setting. LPN/CMAs participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, based on objectives, standards, and policies of nursing. They have the ability to handle a diverse range of situations and responsibilities, which is their primary duty. LPN/CMAs are responsible for rendering nursing care in an assigned area in terms of individualized patient needs, according to conformance with recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practice, under the direction/delegation of a Registered Nurse or Provider.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Practical Nursing or Medical Assisting program
  • Current MN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Friendly, customer service oriented with a professional demeanor and appearance
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and techniques
  • Knowledge of instruments used for procedures
  • Understand basic rooming of a patient
  • Strong knowledge of preparing patient and room for procedures, and assisting Provider as needed
  • Proficient skill at MS Office

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a clinical health care setting
  • Epic EMR experience

Responsibilities

  • Meet, maintain, and follow Meaningful Use, PQRS, MN community Measures requirements, and other quality initiatives
  • Adequate knowledge of Provider practice type
  • Ensure efficient and accurate patient care coordination
  • Perform all tasks per Provider order within scope of practice or specialty training
  • Work in accordance of primary Providers’ clinic schedule
  • Possess prior authorization of medications
  • Prepare and administer injections, immunizations, and medications
  • Administer treatments as prescribed by Provider
  • Submit appropriate charges for services rendered
  • Process patients’ charts upon admission and discharge
  • Collect and handle all specimens appropriately
  • Facilitate communication in regards to patient care between patient and Provider and work to be a patient advocate at all times
  • Complete thorough documentation of all patient interactions in the electronic medical record
  • Improve the patient experience and improve patient flow within Alomere Health
  • Effectively communicate with patients, families, and those involved in the patients’ care
  • Assist in emergent situations, using knowledge and skill of crash cart and defibrillator resources
  • Respond to patient and visitor requests, complaints, and recommendations
  • Employees working in specialty areas will be required to perform procedures specific to that specialty
