Purpose: To meet resident care and activity needs and manage the overall operation of the Rose Garden in accordance with resident needs, government regulations, and Orchard policy and procedures that ensure resident focused care, ensure quality programming, capitalizing on resident abilities & helps residents feel safe and purposeful. Minimum Eligibility Requirements Licensed Nurse or BA/BS degree in medical, psychological, or social; experience in geriatric care, 5 plus years management experience preferred Extensive knowledge of Alzheimer's Disease and related Dementias and a desire to serve residents and families The physical and emotional ability to work within an environment that supports the goals set forth for the Rose Garden (See attachment for Goals) Leadership skills and the ability to coordinate care across disciplines Creativity and quality team work skills Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational skills and computer literacy using word, excel, publisher, email, and web search Essential Functions Director must have physical, emotional, & technical abilities to: Model behavior modification and validation techniques for staff while assisting/caring for residents Assure and conduct a seven day a week activity program while delivering care and facilitating events Conduct resident screenings and family interviews Play a major role in resident transfers and family communication during process Document appropriately as outlined in government regulations as well as Orchard policy and procedures Develop and implement staff development/ training program for Rose Garden Assist in resident care (ADL's such as bathing, dressing, grooming, & toileting) Organize and lead regularly scheduled staff meetings & Training sessions Organize and lead regularly scheduled family care plan meetings Organize and lead regularly scheduled resident activities Supervise caregivers in giving care/assisting residents Recruit, hire, orient, and maintain all Rose Garden staff Develop & Implement residents' service & care plans based on family interview & on-going assessment of resident needs Evaluate the care delivered to ensure compliance with policy & procedures as well as government regulations Create Daily Activity calendar & monthly special events calendar that meets government regulations and policy and procedure Coordinate dining/hydration/activities program with Dining Service Director Hear & Respond to resident needs by understanding their communication Assist in marketing and sales efforts of the program and the community Provide reports & spreadsheets as requested by Executive Director Working Conditions Ability to work full time, with some weekend and evening work Physical/Sensory Requiremens (with or without the aid of mechanical devices) Medium Work - Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
