Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital's colorectal surgeons are world leaders in treating benign and cancerous diseases of the colon and rectum. We have the largest colorectal surgery center in Florida, and our surgeons have an international reputation for excellence. As an LPN, you will leverage your experience in ambulatory care to provide direct patient care and support to caregivers across the organization. Reporting to a registered nurse, physician, optometrist, or podiatrist, you will perform patient care activities and complete required documentation for patients of all ages in various outpatient settings, while also sharing your knowledge and mentoring newer clinical staff.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of Practical Nursing.
  • Current License as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) required upon rehire.
  • Two years of experience in an LPN Ambulatory position at the Cleveland Clinic immediately prior to retirement.
  • Current demonstrated clinical competence.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and document objective and subjective data and observations about the patient.
  • Contribute observations and health information to the nursing assessment and report all data to the RN or authorized directing health care provider.
  • Implement the current plan of nursing care at the direction of the RN, or the medication or treatment authorized by the authorized directing health care provider.
  • Document and verbally communicate the patient's response to the nursing plan of care, or the medication or treatment including observing patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments and performing routine laboratory tests.
  • Contribute to the revision of the nursing plan of care.
  • Provide education and information to patients and family members.
  • Maintain professional growth and development within nursing field.
  • Participate in the department orientation of new employees in a positive manner, share knowledge, experiences and provide guidance when assigned.
