About The Position
An LPN Staff Nurse will, under the supervision of an RN, provide nursing care to clients as outlined in section 2 of the 'Practical Nurse law'. The position requires attending 12 hours of Person Centered Thinking training prior to or within 90 days of hire. The candidate must provide nursing care based on client needs, assist with the development of the plan of care, observe client behavior and physical status, and notify RN and/or Physician of changes in condition. The role also involves assisting in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment that respects client's rights and assisting clients with activities of daily living, encouraging independent behavior when appropriate. The LPN may supervise Mental Health Technicians during shifts and assist in the performance and/or observation of restraints as necessary when ordered by a licensed professional. Additionally, the LPN will administer medications as per Physician's orders and observe, record, and report evidence of adverse reactions to medications.
