Requirements

• Must have graduated from a school or college of nursing program leading to licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Associate's degree in practical nursing is preferred.
• Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as a RN (or LPN) at another facility.
• Requires current licensure as a practical nurse in the state/states of practice.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
• Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of patients.
• Document a thorough medical history from patients.
• Contribute to the assessment of patients and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
• Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
• Counsel patients and family members on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge.
