About The Position

The position is within the Georgetown Express Care department, located at 1015 W University Ave Suite 700, Georgetown, Texas. The schedule includes various 10 or 12-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, with rotating weekends. The role involves providing care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, contributing to patient assessments, administering medications, performing laboratory tests, and educating patients and families about treatment plans and resources.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Drivers License preferred.
  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • LVN/LPN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within scope of license.
  • Contribute to the assessment of patients and assure the well-being of patients.
  • Administer medications and observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
  • Perform laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
  • Educate patients/families about disease treatment plan including self-care post-discharge, holistic health needs, available resources, and follow-up care.
  • Act as a resource within the clinic to other staff members regarding patient care.
  • Assist in the development and/or delivery of orientation and/or education processes for patients and staff.
  • Document delivery of health care and nursing process in accordance with policies and procedures in a timely, accurate, and consistent manner.
  • Report abnormal critical health data.
  • Coordinate and delegate the timely processing of patient referrals necessary for the delivery of patient care.
  • Utilize the nursing process to facilitate appropriate nursing interventions during client triage.
  • Coordinate and delegate the delivery of patient care provided by selected members of the health care team.
  • Facilitate coordination of services with the non-medical clinic staff to obtain optimum patient flow and increased patient satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • May be required to be 'on-call.'
