About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources along with TeamHealth has an excellent opportunity for a Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN) in Troy, Ohio. The LPN will be providing Correctional Medical care for those housed at the Miami County Jail. Position Highlights: Full-time/Part-time availabilty/PRN We staff from 6a-10p Monday thru Friday and 6a-5p on the weekends. There are two jails that the nurses move between, 2042 County Rd 25A and 201 W Main street, both Troy, Ohio Adult population Job Duties: Provide a range of medical care to include primary, addiction, urgent and behavioral health care Free from coding, billing, insurance, satisfaction surveys, ICD-10 and DRGS Care is evidence based. We address needs, not wants Vast array of medical pathology that is not seen in any one other healthcare location Work is socially meaningful as patients are a socially marginalized and lack ordinary access to medical care whether due to lack of insurance, mental illness or homelessness (for anyone interested in addiction medicine or mental health) Large degree of medical autonomy and free of micromanaging. Extensive nursing guidelines in place. Safer than most other healthcare settings as –weapons are forbidden, controversial inmates dealt with by correctional staff (safety and security takes precedence), inmates are punished for acting out, visits can be stopped at any time and restarted at a later date/time

Requirements

  • Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by a state agency or accredited by the ACEN
  • A minimum of 12 months of experience in a primary care setting within the last 24 months
  • Active, unrestricted OH LPN license
  • BLS from the American Heart Association
