About The Position

Our residential treatment program provides hope for clients suffering from mental health and substance use disorders, helping them ensure sustained recovery. Located in beautiful Deerfield Beach, Lifeskills provides a secure and nurturing atmosphere for balanced recovery and healing. Residential treatment program clients live in fully furnished townhomes that are professionally staffed 24-hours a day. This realistic, home-like setting allows residents to adapt to their new coping skills within the local community and practice their daily routines while taking part in the therapeutic process. In our residential treatment program, we help our clients successfully transition back into their homes, family lives, and careers with newfound self-esteem, direction, and control. At Lifeskills Behavioral Health, we don’t just focus on the presenting condition, but rather on the underlying disorders by utilizing a comprehensive whole-person approach that serves at the foundation for true client-centered care. We treat adults of all genders, ages 18 and older. Our services are tailored to those who are resistant to medication, exhibit risk-taking behavior, and those who have undergone multiple treatment episodes. Requirements

  • Must hold a current LPN licensure within the state of Florida and have an associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing. Psychiatric nursing experience strongly preferred.
  • Active First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Clear TB skin test or chest X-ray.
  • Demonstrates a high level of customer service.
  • Demonstrates a high attention to detail and organizational and prioritizing skills.

  • Demonstrates strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides a comprehensive nursing assessment identifying client’ s medical needs, capabilities, and limitations.
  • Records and transcribes physicians written and verbal orders. Carries out or delegates STAT orders immediately.
  • Communicates observations and recommendations for clients’ plan of care, providing input into the treatment team process.
  • Identifies abnormal diagnostic data and brings to the attending physician’s attention.
  • Documents the administration of medication (including PRN) in according to established policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates all pharmacy and laboratory orders, delivery, and refills with the appropriate vendors.
  • Responsible for the security of all controlled medications kept in the facility and monitors the administration and accurate recording of use.
  • Administers medications according to physician orders and medication administration record.
  • Administers injections, as needed/ordered.
  • Provides, structures, and maintains a therapeutic environment in collaboration with other staff.
  • Documents observations in nursing assessment and weekly notes in electronic charting system, Best Notes, in accordance with facility policy in a timely manner. Documentation reflects plan of care outlined in the Master Treatment Plan.
  • Documentation reflects ongoing assessment of resident behaviors and feelings as expressed and are addressed appropriately within the program or with referral.
  • Prepares clients for discharge through individualized counseling and instruction prior to discharge in a clear and concise manner; providing written instructions if needed.
  • Provides education to clients and families about medications, side effects, contraindications, and physical symptoms through individual counseling and group counseling.
  • Provides review of clinical records for accuracy and quality documentation.
  • Assists in the coordination of admissions, transfers, and discharges to provide a smooth and efficient flow of communication.
  • Coordinates facility infection control program ensuring staff and clients meet policy and procedure requirements.
  • Can be relied upon to be at work as scheduled and is rarely absent from work, notifying the supervisor if absent.
  • Demonstrates an ability to adapt to changes in the facility function, management styles, and facility routines.
  • Reads, understands, and adheres to all company policy statements on ethics, conduct, and conflict of interests.
  • Adheres to facility policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, implementing regularly.
  • Maintains positive attitude and acts as a team player with others on the treatment team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
