About The Position

Join our not-for-profit organization that has provided over 100 years of housing and services to seniors with a commitment to quality care and service in a Christian environment. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. The position involves demonstrating knowledge of nursing principles relevant to the clinical setting, ensuring the health, comfort, and safety of residents, and contributing to the assessment of residents. The LPN will administer medications or treatments as ordered, document resident interactions, and communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare providers. This role requires the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary care team and to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
  • Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span or have a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility.
  • Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.
  • Obtains and maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
  • Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements.

  • IV therapy/management skills if required by specific services/positions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care under supervision.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles relevant to the clinical setting.
  • Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
  • Contribute to the assessment of residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
  • Document resident interactions and outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public.
  • Counsel residents and family members on prevention and treatment plans under direction of a registered nurse or physician.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
