Job Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for pre-visit planning, standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, discharge instructions and carries out both administrative and clinical tasks as directed by a medical provider. This position is instrumental in helping the patient feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the patient's visit.

Requirements

  • Current clinical experience as a licensed practical nurse.
  • Knowledge of principles and skills needed to provide patient care.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to provide patient care.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Fosters work and patient relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy level.
  • Possess skills to effectively problem solve.
  • Proficient in the use of EMR systems, computer, phone, and office equipment.
  • Possess effective written and verbal communication.
  • Valid Practical Nursing license issued by the state of WI Upon Hire Required
  • CPR/Basic Life support for Healthcare Providers certification from approved program Required

Responsibilities

  • Room patients, perform and document vital signs and patient backgrounds.
  • Coordinate provider schedules and appointments, enter orders and prepare patient charts.
  • Instruct patients and families as directed within scope of licensure or certification.
  • Prepare patients and assist medical providers with in-office procedures and prepare and administer medications/immunizations.
  • Maintain exams rooms and equipment to be within infection control standards. Ensure appropriate levels of medical supplies for each patient room.
