About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN will provide direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of patients under the direction of a registered nurse of provider. The LPN will observe, report and record medical information and nursing care provided in the electronic medical record. The LPN will instruct patients and families according to the teaching plans. The LPN will communicate with the healthcare team to facilitate the coordination of individualized patient care. Located across from the Park City Mall in iconic Lancaster County, the Penn State Health Lancaster Pediatric Outpatient Center serves the local Pediatric population of South-Central Pennsylvania! The PSH Lancaster Pediatric Outpatient Center serves an estimated 100-150 patients/day and is seeking clinical staff to join the team. The hired Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for rooming patients, taking vitals, hearing and vision screenings, and Point-of-Care testing. The LPN will also administer vaccines, dispense oral medications and respiratory treatments, while also collecting swabs/specimens for testing/processing. The LPN is also responsible for other clinical/clerical duties within their scope of practice The ideal LPN will display excellent bedside manner with an eagerness to learn. Requirements

  • Currently licensed to practice as a licensed practical nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate LPN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required prior to completion of orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year experience in an acute or ambulatory care setting preferred
  • Excellent bedside manner with an eagerness to learn
