About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs a variety of professional nursing duties in compliance with the Skilled Nursing Facility regulations and follows established policies and procedures for our facility in Minneapolis, MN - Jones-Harrison Nurse schedule includes: 48 hours per two weeks. Overnight shift Every other weekend Sat/Sunday and holiday rotation Full benefits (paid time off, matching retirement) Celebrating 135 years of service, Jones-Harrison Senior Living is conveniently located close to the metro bus stops off Cedar Lake Ave./Drew Ave. S. and Cedar Lake Ave./France Ave. S. in Minneapolis. Requirements
- MN LPN licensure
- AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or Red Cross CPR for Professional Rescuers (3 week grace period for BLS)
- Able to work independently
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Nice To Haves
- Previous healthcare experience
- Comfortable using computers, hand held devices, phones and fax machine
Responsibilities
- Provides skilled nursing care such as; implementing practitioners’ orders, ordering and assisting with medications and supplies, operates medical equipment, and charting practices
- Lifts and transfer residents as needed, Initiates emergency treatment as needed
- Monitors work and performance of unlicensed staff
- Updates RN with current observation and completes documentation of resident health status
- Communicates changes in residents conditions to relevant individuals
- May support RN by completing resident assessments, service agreements and care plans
