  • High School diploma or GED; graduate of an approved Practical Nurse training program or a recent graduate eligible for licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in an outpatient setting specializing in urology and gynecology.
  • Take patient histories and assist with procedures such as urodynamics, cystoscopies, and colposcopies.
  • Educate patients on their conditions and treatment options.
  • Coordinate care with physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Provide clinical advice via phone or electronic correspondence based on clinical judgments and triage protocols.
  • Administer injections and medications as prescribed by the provider.
  • Prepare and assist providers with various procedures and exams.
  • Perform Point of Care Testing and collect laboratory specimens.
  • Authorize prescription refills as instructed by the provider.
  • Assist with test tracking and monitoring overdue results.
  • Maintain and clean medical instruments and exam rooms after each patient visit.
  • Review and revise plans of care with providers and assess patient progress.
  • Coordinate referrals and community resources for patients.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and care quality.
  • Act as a patient experience advocate and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
