Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • LPN with current Oklahoma licensure.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of continuous experience in a clinic setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works under the direct supervision of the Clinic Nurse Director or Supervising RN.
  • Assist with daily clinic patient care (i.e. patient flow, taking patient's history and vitals, assisting with diagnostic testing, maintenance of medical supplies, etc.)
  • Prepare patients for examinations.
  • Responsible for taking accurate patient histories, vital signs and assessments of patient medications and complaints.
  • Assist Physician with in-office and/or out of town clinics.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for examinations keeping the rooms neat and clean.
  • Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
  • Perform various types of diagnostic testing; may include holter monitors, EKGs.
  • Perform various types of treatments as directed, such as suture or staple removal, wound care, etc.
  • Use independent judgment when triaging and processing patient telephone calls according to physician's guidelines.
  • Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
  • Perform phlebotomy skills, on occasion as necessary.
  • Review patient's charts and records for completeness prior to clinic visits.
  • Schedule appointments for patients as necessary.
