About The Position

The LPN II position in Inpatient Rehabilitation at the Muskogee Campus involves administering nursing care to an assigned group of patients based on physician's orders and the nursing care plan. The role requires consultation with registered nurses to plan patient care and involves a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties, including data collection. The position is part-time with a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department, and it includes 6 shifts per schedule, with 24 hours on weekends and a 12-hour shift on each of two designated holidays.

Requirements

• Has completed the prescribed curricula of a practical nursing program or equivalent coursework approved by a state board of nursing.
• Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Licensed Practical Nurse License.
• 0 - 6 months related experience.
• Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways.
• Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and efficiently.
• Detail-oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.
• IV therapy medication administration as guided by hospital policy.

Responsibilities

• Takes and notes physician's orders accurately.

• Facilitates patient teaching and implements discharge planning.
• Makes appropriate referrals.
• Supports unit/hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities.
• Attends mandatory in-services and meets unit education standards.
• Accurately completes variance reports.
