About The Position
The LPN II position at Children's National is a full-time role focused on providing nursing care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Physician, or Advanced Practice Nurse. The LPN II will be responsible for delivering care in accordance with the legal scope of practice, national and specialty nursing standards, and the policies and procedures of Children's National. This role emphasizes the importance of community health and well-being, supporting the development of the LPN within the community context. In this position, the LPN II will engage in various clinical processes, including conducting patient histories, taking vital signs, and performing basic nursing care such as personal hygiene and assisting with mobility. The LPN will also be involved in therapeutic interventions, monitoring patients for changes in condition, and responding to alarms from medical equipment. The role requires a strong understanding of infection control protocols and the ability to follow nursing practice guidelines meticulously. The LPN II will also play a crucial role in patient education, teaching families about medication administration and reinforcing care plans developed by the healthcare team. This position requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children and their families, ensuring that they understand the care being provided and the necessary follow-up actions.
