About The Position

The Fulltime LPN II Emergency Center position involves administering nursing care to an assigned group of patients based on physician's orders, nursing care plan, and the Oklahoma Board of Nursing Scope of Practice. The role requires consultation with registered nurses to plan patient care and involves performing a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties including data collection. The position is full-time, requiring 36 hours per week, specifically three 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with weekends and holidays required as per department guidelines.

Requirements

• Has completed the prescribed curricula of a practical nursing program or equivalent coursework approved by a state board of nursing.
• Holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or certificate from a practical nursing program.
• Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Licensed Practical Nurse License.
• 0 - 6 months related experience.
• Working knowledge of general disease state management processes and clinical pathways.
• Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively.
• Detail-oriented in the examination of clinical and numerical data.
• IV therapy medication administration as guided by hospital policy.

Responsibilities

• Takes and notes physician's orders accurately.

• Addresses patient problems and progress toward outcomes.
• Facilitates patient teaching and implements discharge planning.
• Makes appropriate referrals.
• Supports unit/hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities.
• Attends mandatory in-services and meets unit education standards.
• Accurately completes variance reports.
