The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient/resident care for stable and predictable patients/residents of all ages in the home care setting. Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.
• One year of professional nursing experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required.
• If position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in home care setting.
• Knowledge of medications and their effects on patients/residents.
• Ability to establish a safe environment specific to the home setting.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the patient/resident in the relevant setting.
• Performs testing to assess data reflective of the patient's/resident's status and interprets the information needed to identify each patient's/resident's requirements.
• Provides care needed relative to the age-specific needs of patients/residents.
• Ensures the health, comfort, and safety of patients/residents.
• Administers a variety of treatments and medications as directed.
• Develops a self-care program based on patient/resident education principles.
