A licensed Practical Nurse employed by Erlanger Medical Center is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the patient under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. A Licensed Practical Nurse must have knowledge of and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient. This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices' patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to patients seen in a health care office setting. Responsible for administering direct/indirect care of the patient under the supervision of their provider. Registers and schedules patient appointments, interviews patients, and record patient's histories. Assists patients, nursing and providers with procedures. Knowledge of and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient. Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding for reimbursement. Computer literate.
