Requirements

• Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions
• CPR certified
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Previous experience in healthcare with a general knowledge of assisted daily living needs preferably in a long-term care or continuing care retirement community setting serving the elderly

Responsibilities

• Monitors staff compliance with unit systems and processes to promote efficient and effective quality person-centered Resident care and follows up as indicated.
• Monitors staff compliance with report resource directions and follows up as indicated.
• Communicates, collaborates, acts, and directs assigned Certified Nursing Assistants and Registered Medication Aides as indicated to assure Residents' needs are met appropriately.
• Documents assessments and interventions completely and legibly.
• Is proficient in the use of all required functions related to the Electronic Medication Administration System.
• Administers medications and treatments in compliance with the Home's policy and procedure.
• Promotes quality person-centered Resident care by administering medications and treatments as ordered, by assessing individual Residents' needs during every two-hour rounds and more frequently as indicated, and by following up as appropriate; and promotes positive unit morale.
