Performs and/or delegates patient treatments as ordered by Provider and participates in education plan for patient/family.

Requirements

Completion of an accredited practical nursing program .
Current Massachusetts licensure .
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Knowledge of basic nursing procedures .
Strong interpersonal skills are to gather information from individuals, build relationships that support collaborative work within the department and across the organization and provide exceptional service to patients.
Unless certification, licensure or registration is , an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

Assesses and obtain a patients basic health status, records, and related data according to standard procedure and needs of patient and their families.
Administers medications, performs treatment as ordered , and operates equipment according to policy and procedure.
Performs venipuncture using aseptic technique, 12 lead EKGs, and administers vaccinations.
Participates i n implementation and evaluation of care plan including long and short-term goals, nursing actions , and teaching.
Documents patient care according to standard procedure. Records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient condition to Provider and/or R N and assists in analyzing and interpreting patient data.
Assists provider with treatments, procedures, and special tests as or directed.
Communicates with patients via electronic, telephonic, and in person, per scope of practice.
Collaborates with other health care providers to ensure quality and continuity of care.
Maintains a safe environment.
