About The Position

Sentara Medical Group is seeking to hire a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team! This is a part-time day shift position (24 hours weekly) with the Float Pool. The Licensed Practical Nurse will support one or more regions which would primarily include the Peninsula sites (Williamsburg, Newport News, Hampton, Gloucester). May require travel to Western Tidewater as needed. Differential pay is provided for the travel and flexibility that is needed for this role. Overview LPN manages responsibilities of workload with accuracy, provides excellence in customer service, performs testing, medication administration and the implementation of nursing interventions and care plans to support a holistic approach to patient care. The LPN serves as patient advocate in the prevention of illness or disease. The work of the LPN may be performed in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, or private homes. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Trade School Graduate-Licensed Practical Nurse required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire required
  • Valid LPN license in state(s) of practice required

Nice To Haves

  • Triaging, verifying medical information, caring for the patient's overall health, and working closely with the doctors and other team members preferred
  • Experience in a hospital, home health, hospice, or our medical group preferred
