We are a small unit but have all the benefits of the Cleveland Clinic. There are a multitude of learning opportunities both onsite and off throughout the year. This LPN role would require the candidate to be trained in 3 different roles within the department-Pre/post op, GI tech role assisting MD during procedures and scope reprocessing. This position will be supporting the physicians in the office setting in obtaining prior authorizations for biologic medications. A caregiver in this position works days, from 8:00am—5:00pm.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program
  • Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Internal candidates must have a minimum of one year related nursing experience
  • External candidates must have two years recent and related experience
  • Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.
  • Involves extensive standing and walking.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • You will be required to comply with this program, which will include obtaining an influenza vaccination on an annual basis or obtaining an approved exemption.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, document and report patient data and observations.
  • Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.
  • Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests.
  • Educate patients and family members.
