Requirements

  • Accredited Program: Licensed Practical Nurse (Required)
  • CPR Cert American Heart (CPR AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • CPR Cert Red Cross (CPR RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS)
  • Complexity of Work: Highly Organized, must be able to work independently, must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and written communication, excellent interpersonal skills, excellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word).

Nice To Haves

  • Required Work Experience: No minimum experience required, at least one (1) year of Clinical Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including scanning, reception, scheduling and data entry.
  • Administers vaccines including but not limited to Hepatitis B, Rubella, MMR, Tdap, Influenza, Rubeola, Varicella, COVID, etc. consistent with MHS policies and procedures.
  • Assists with preventative screening programs, including N95 fit testing, TB screening (including interpretation and referral for evaluation of positive TB results), performs COVID testing as needed.
  • Assists with physical examinations including visual acuity, vital signs and respiratory fit testing, performs urine drug tests, venipunctures, interprets lab reports and screening tests accurately.
  • Assists in evaluating the work-related illness or injury, triage and refer, co-ordinate appointments for therapy or diagnostic testing and arrange for modified duty as and when appropriate. Consults with APRN/W/C Case Manager as needed.
  • Assesses employees who need medical clearance returning to work after infectious disease exposure and refers them to APRN as needed.
  • Maintains equipment, examination room & medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning and disinfection per protocol, and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluates employee exposures to blood and body fluids, providing education and support. Consults with APRN as needed.
